My name is Nicole Clarke. I specialize in piano lessons for young beginners ages 3-10 years old and Earlychildhood music classes for Ages birth-6! I have 14 years experience in Music education in a variety of settings.
I hold a current CT State TEACHER CERTIFICATION Grades PK-12. I also lead family music classes throughout eastern CT. I have a degree in music from UCONN and completed a post graduate teacher certification program at Central Connecticut State University. My current continuing education endeavors include classes in Music Therapy. The past year, I have incorporated many techniques and songs that I have learned from various music therapy resources and they have been highly successful in early childhood and elementary settings that I work in!
I have taught elementary general music in the public schools. I am very fond of the Montessori method and have taught general group music classes at Stoneview Children's university in Norwich for the past four years. I have five years experience teaching music to children with special needs ages 3-6 years old at an integrated public preschool in Madison. As a part of my teacher certification program, I have worked with students of all ages elementary- high school. This includes general music, choral and instrumental music. I have also done programs for summer camps after school programs and performed children’s music for events.
